Who is the Adventurer?

  1. The Adventurer is a child in grades 1-4 and in Kindergarten.
  2. Each Adventurer is a unique and special person.
  3. Still there are several characteristics which are typical of Adventurer-age children.

How Adventurers Respond

  1. Please don't ask me to sit still for very long. I want to DO things.
  2. Let me improve coordination through games and creative activities.
  3. Don't just tell me things. Let me try them and get involved with them.
  4. I do want to know about my world. Tell me in an interesting way.
  5. Show me what you want me to know. Don't expect me to understand long explanations.
  6. Show me fun ways to use my good memory for a good purpose.
  7. I like stories and inventing things.
  8. Use many kinds of stories, songs, games, and activities.
  9. Give me lots of chances to relate to others in my peer group.
  10. Let me discover and do things by myself whenever possible.
  11. Help me find things I can do well, and let me know that you approve of me.
  12. I need structure and guidance to control my impulses and activities.
  13. I love to play and talk with my friends.

  3. I need success and approval from you
  4. I am easily overexcited
  5. I am very social
